First up, my newest column is all about Physical AI and what it means in terms of practical applications for Embedded Engineers. It’s the year of Physical AI, and my distaste for the term aside, there are real implications that come with bringing IoT, AI, and massive processing to the Edge.
Our next story comes from JKI, which has released the latest version of its VI Package Manager for LabVIEW, VIPM 2026 Q3. This version introduces a complete command-line interface for continuous integration automation, a new VIPM command for generating Software Bills of Materials ahead of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and support for managing NI Package Manager (NIPM) dependencies alongside VIPM packages in a single configuration file.
Finally, we’re featuring ARBOR, which has launched a rugged Edge AI platform, the FPC-9309W-G5, powered by Intel Core Ultra Processors with support for NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU up to 575W. ARBOR says it offers real-time AI inference, machine vision processing, and high-performance analytics for AI vision, intelligent transportation, and smart manufacturing applications.
Instead of my Ken’s Trends column this week, I’m bringing you an interview I did with Dr. Adam Page, AI at Ambiq, about the launch of the company’s new heliaPROFILER, designed to Accelerate Edge AI Development.
