Hello Embedded Professionals, Engineers, and Developers! Welcome to In Case You Missed it, the weekly news show all about Embedded technologies and solutions from Embedded Computing Design.

It’s Friday September 11, 2026, I’m Ken Briodagh, Editor in Chief of Embedded Computing Design, and these are our top stories this week.

First up, Analog Devices and Alif Semiconductor have announced that the two companies have come into a definitive agreement under which ADI will acquire Alif in an all-cash transaction for $1.35 billion. The acquisition will combine ADI’s sensing, signal processing, power, connectivity, and application software engineering with Alif’s digital platform to provide complete Physical Intelligence solutions.

Up next is a blog post from Brette Mullenaux in the Secure Computing Group at Microchip about how to prepare embedded systems for the post-quantum security transition. The secret, he says, is to stay nimble and to design systems with enough flexibility to evolve. Don’t miss it.

Our next story comes from Arm, which has, in a massive set of releases this week, announced its determination to build the agentic AI computing platform of the future and the present, for every use case. The slate of announcements included Arm CSS for Mobile 2, the Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX mobile GPU, and Arm C2 CPU cluster. They’re all aimed at Agentic AI dominance, and you should go get the full specs – it’s impressive.

Finally, we’re featuring Arrow Electronics, which has been granted distribution rights for the HPE Networking product portfolio across North America and select EMEA countries. This expands Arrow's capacity to deliver the complete HPE portfolio, including HPE Aruba Networking and HPE Juniper Networking solutions to channel partners.

Instead of Ken’s Trends this week, we bring you a preview of our newest show, SystemChat, premiering next Monday September 14, and airing every Monday until the final syllable of recorded time. Ken sits down with Frank Ferro of Cadence to talk about Systems of Memory and Storage.
