Upcoming Conference: “MISRA: the Future, and AI – the journey ahead”

On November 10, 2026, MISRA will hold its conference, “MISRA: the Future, and AI – the journey ahead” near Manchester Airport (UK). The goal is to bring together engineers, software developers, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the future of safety and security in critical software development.
"Software engineering is continually evolving, and, from the MISRA perspective, AI is the latest stage in the story. Bringing our community together is incredibly valuable so we can discuss the challenges we’re all facing, learn from each other, and make sure best practice evolves alongside the technology," said David Ward, Operations Director for the MISRA Consortium
Due to AI being in the forefront of innovation, conference participants will deliberate what compliance, assurance, and accountability look like in an AI-driven world. Attendees will explore how engineering best practice can continue to progress while maintaining the demanding standards needed via expert presentations, technical discussions, and networking
Andrew Banks, Chairman of the MISRA C Working Group, commented, “While AI has phenomenal potential in our industry, such as to help engineers sift through large volumes of legacy code or accelerate routine development tasks, it needs to be deployed appropriately and safely. One of the topics we’ll be discussing is the continued importance of human expertise in directing, validating, and taking responsibility for the software that is ultimately deployed.”
Vistors will have an opportunity to hear from subject-matter experts, share experiences with peers, and provide valuable feedback on the challenges that matter most to the engineering community and the future of MISRA guidelines.
