IoT enables collection of data like never before. But even if you are good at collecting data, where does that leave you?
If you are a product manufacturer, you are likely still doing business the traditional way – recommending standard preventative maintenance to your customers, not getting any real feedback on the performance of your products in the field, and executing only a cursory services business. If you are an operator of an industrial installation such as a factory, you may have found one or two places where data is helping with decision making, but you still have unplanned downtime, quality isn’t where you want it, and safety needs improvement.
As a result, your financial results are lagging, and customers are dissatisfied. Possibly a third party has come in and is offering solutions and services that you think you should be able to develop and manage yourself.
And really, when you look through this lens it’s not about the data. It’s about how you make the big changes in your company. Using data is one important part, but there are many more. It’s about becoming a company with connected products or solutions and executing a “digital transformation” to create new services, optimize business models, or streamline operations.
In this presentation, we will discuss the key elements – business and technical - to becoming a connected company, address the most common solution areas for industrial companies where IoT will help to accelerate transformation; and how can you reduce risk and time to ROI by getting started quickly with market ready solutions.
