Tundra Semiconductor will be delivering an in-depth presentation on optimizing applications using PCI Express bridges. Applications covered will include video security, embedded computing, PC add-in cards, storage adapters and riser cards. Tundra will cover the challenges that designers need to be aware of when bridging between PCI Express and PCI/X. These challenges include performance, power consumption, design complexity, cost and development risk. Examples of how to address these challenges with Tundra’s PCI Express bridges will be provided. Examples will also be given outlining how PCI Express bridge features can contribute to better system performance and simplify board design. A practical discussion covering performance tuning will be given demonstrating how features such as short-term caching work, how to implement them and the results they can deliver in different systems.
