Together with Silex Technology, they are launching a high-performance ecosystem that makes secure, low-power, and long-range Wi-Fi a reality in smart factories, transportation systems, and energy infrastructure.

Sept. 23, 2025 – Morse Micro announced the mass production and general availability of its second-generation MM8108 System-on-Chip (SoC). This represents a leap forward for Wi-Fi HaLow, bringing data throughput at range, which is designed to enable the next generation of IoT and edge AI solutions.

When I attended CES in Las Vegas back in January, I came across Morse Micro, a provider of Wi-Fi HaLow ICs. I was unfamiliar with that specification, so I attempted to learn more. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one looking for more insight into this specification, because the company’s tabletop area was jam-packed, and being that I was already late for another appointment, I never hooked up with the Morse team. That changed when I attended Embedded World in Nuremberg last month. I got the full download on the spec, the company, and its latest SoC/transceiver.

The Wi-Fi blackspot problem inside the home has been largely solved by Wi-Fi 6 mesh access points that allocate some of their wireless bandwidth to establish connectivity between mesh network nodes, thus extending the reach of the wireless local area network (WLAN). While this works well in many domestic situations, and for some small offices, it’s not nearly a perfect solution.

SYDNEY. Morse Micro and Chicony Electronics have combined forces to provide Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow IP cameras to industry developers. The partnership aims to boost the range and reliability of imaging equipment with next-generation innovations. By integrating Wi-Fi HaLow, the wireless camera platforms provide 10x more reach than current Wi-Fi 6 cameras operating at 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
