It’s been a very successful year for the Z-Wave Alliance. If you have any doubts about that statement, check out this week’s Embedded Executives podcast, where I spoke to Avi Rosenthal, the Chairman of the Alliance. 

Avi rattled off a long list of achievements for the organization, including a new spec, an unplug fest, and many new products. These endeavors all transcend nicely into wins for the community. That means developers have more/better options when it comes to wireless devices.

Beaverton, Oregon. Z-Wave Alliance announced that it has completed the specification for Z-Wave LR (ZWLR) for the European market, and will be made available to member companies in an upcoming release. “From the moment we announced ZWLR for the North American market, the Alliance has been hard at work to make the spec available to our valued members in Europe,” said Avi Rosenthal, Chairman of the Board, Z-Wave Alliance. “With the specification complete, the Alliance will soon announce ZWLR certification program details and once released, ZWLR will be available to European Z-Wave Alliance members for product development.”    

There’s a new sheriff in town when it comes to the Z-Wave Alliance, a newly formed standards development organization. The new Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Z-Wave Alliance is Avi Rosenthal, whose day job is the Managing Partner of bluesalve partners.

Beaverton, OR – In an effort to extend code contribution across smart home networks and smart devices, the Z-Wave Alliance announced that the Z-Wave Source Code project is now available on GitHub to Alliance members. The Standards Development Organization’s code project will allow members to provide code to progress the Z-Wave standard.
