Santa, Clara, Calif. OMNIVISION, released its new automotive grade 1.3-megapixel (MP) OX01E20 system-on-chip (SoC) for surround view systems (SVS) and rear-view cameras (RVC). Also included is LED flicker mitigation (LFM) and 140db high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities.

OMNIVISION launched the industry’s first three-layer stacked BSI global shutter image sensor with a small form factor, high image quality, and ultra-low power consumption for eye and face tracking.

Not all image sensors are created equally. That’s actually a pretty big understatement, as the applications for these devices varies widely. At the low end, the sensors could be in toys or consumer products that don’t require lots of precision. At the high end, are devices that may find themselves in medical applications.

Using next-generation OX08B40 CMOS image sensors, the demonstration is powered by Xilinx MPSoC and Motovis IP. The live proof-of-concept demonstration highlights the increased range and wider field of view enabled in the higher resolution 8MP system.
