NXP's FRDM initiative simplifies the development process for engineers, regardless of performance needs or application. The ecosystem covers the hardware, the software, and all the tools.

TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) released a press release noting that Jens Hinrichsen, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Analog and Automotive Embedded Systems at NXP Semiconductors, will be a keynote speaker at COMPUTEX 2025. The keynote will take place on May 20 at 3:00 PM (UTC+8) at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (Hall 2, 7F).

We often say that designing secure systems means thinking about security early on in the design process. That means really early on, well before any pen is put to paper, so to speak. 

To understand what that means, I spoke to Denis Noel, the Director of Strategy in the Secure Connected Edge business unit at NXP on this week’s Embedded Executives podcast. Denis walked through each of the various steps a developer should be taking.

Engineers designing, prototyping, and developing embedded applications can benefit from reliable, flexible, and effective solutions that enable them to bring products to market quicker and more easily. These solutions often employ features like low-power capabilities, versatile connectivity, and advanced security.

I spent three days at electronica in Munich last month and saw some amazing technologies and products, in addition to meeting some old friends, and (hopefully) making some new ones. Rumor has it that there were about 80,000 attendees and almost 3,500 exhibitors, spread out over 18 halls. Oh, and it was cold, very cold.

AI-enabled edge computing is in a massive growth cycle, both among consumer-facing markets, and in the B-to-B, enterprise, and industrial verticals. This growth in demand is driving an ever-increasing demand for additional compute power and new functions, while still remaining low power enough to run on batteries.
