Another trade show is in the books, and I’m pleased to report things are about as back to normal as they are likely to get. The show I’m referring to is electronica, which is held bi-annually in Munich, Germany. As such, it’s been four years since we’ve convened at what it is generally considered the world’s largest event for the embedded and electronics industries.

This technical article will examine how image sensors evolve to meet the challenge of autonomous driving with the latest technology to deliver industry-required performance at the price point they need.

MUNICH. onsemi displayed a series of new MOSFET devices  in a 5mm x 7mm form factor at electronica ’22. The TCPAK57 family of top-cool devices include 40V, 60V, and 80V versions with the capability of operating at junction temperatures (T_j) of 175°C and are AEC-Q101 qualified and PPAP collaboration ready. Included motor control, DC/DC conversion, and a 16.5mm² thermal pad on the top to dissipate into a heatsink through general PCBs.

MUNICH – Nov. 14, 2022 – As part of a strategic collaboration, Mercedes-Benz selected onsemi’s silicon carbide (SiC) technology, the VE-Trac SiC modules, for the all-electric Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX’s traction inverter. Designed to increase the EV’s range by up to 10%, the VE-Trac SiC modules allowed the EV to complete a 1,202 km (747 mile) trip from Stuttgart, Germany to Silverstone, England, making the trip the longest distance traveled on a single charge.

Flex Power Modules launched its non-isolated and unregulated BMR313 Intermediate Bus Converter (IBC) that provides peak power rating of 3 kW in a 23.4 x 17.8 x 7.65 mm form factor, with 908 W/cm3 power density. The BMR313 carries an input voltage range between 40-60 V, 10-15 V of output with 97.3% efficiency at 54 V input, and continuous output of 1kW. The BMR313 is designed for cold wall mounting and offers the generally used LGA footprint and pinout.
