Global expert in simulation and validation opens branch office in San Jose.

San Jose, California. December 12, 2019. dSPACE has opened a Silicon Valley office in San Jose, California. As part of its strategic realignment, dSPACE - strong in software development and HIL solutions - has been investing in technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and sensor technology to support its customers with their dynamically-changing requirements for simulation and validation solutions.

"As part of the Silicon Valley ecosystem, we want to be a key contributor to customers and technology companies in providing new solutions to the dynamic challenges facing our industry. We are bringing our global expertise as a partner for simulation and validation moving closer to our customers," said Martin Goetzeler, CEO of dSPACE.

The new dSPACE West Coast regional office is located at 2540 N. First Street, Suite 201, San Jose, CA 95131.

"We have already networked with many high-tech companies in and around the new location. We are excited to help them bring innovations in autonomous driving and electric mobility to the road faster with our prototyping, simulation, and validation solutions," said Dr. Peter Waeltermann, President of dSPACE Inc.

The new regional office is headed by dSPACE Account Manager Thorsten Oppermann, who has been working with customers on the West Coast since 2017. The US main office of dSPACE Inc. is located in Wixom, Michigan, at the heart of the US automotive industry.

dSPACE - Partner for Simulation and Validation

dSPACE offers an innovative and scalable tool chain for the development and testing of embedded electronics. From algorithm development to model-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop testing, dSPACE hardware and software tools represent an established and proven process for developing and validating embedded software and systems. dSPACE systems are widely used across the automotive, aerospace, commercial and off-highway vehicle, power electronics, electric drive, medical, as well as research and education industries.
End-to-End Tool Chain for Autonomous Development

With a constant focus on innovation, dSPACE has recently expanded its portfolio to include development and validation tools specifically geared for autonomous driving, electric drive/e-mobility, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications.

The new dSPACE product portfolio includes an end-to-end development and test environment for autonomous vehicles, from data logging and data enrichment to release tests. This includes the ability to generate realistic simulation scenarios using models of perception sensors (i.e., camera, radar, lidar), objects (roads, traffic, traffic signs, pedestrians, etc.) and environmental conditions (weather, glare, precipitation, etc.).

In this simulated 3-D world, engineers can create virtual test drives to determine how sensors are detecting objects, how raw sensor data is being extracted, analyzed and annotated, and how decision-making activities are taking place to execute vehicle behavior.
