Digi international announced the release of new cellular routers and extenders.

Digi international announced the release of new cellular routers and extenders. The purpose of the Digi TX54 and Digi TX64 is to operate in intelligent traffic systems. Further, Digi EX12 cellular extender joins the Digi EX15 in supporting indoor, enterprise use case.

Specifically, the TX54 and TX64 were designed for intelligent traffic systems (ITS) and public safety applications. The routers act as the connectivity groundwork which is a necessity in traffic monitoring and optimization in some connected and self-driving vehicles.

According to the company, it now has routers that include 5Ge and Gigabit LTE (Cat 18) radios, Band 71 and CBRS connectivity, 5G readiness, and are FirstNet Ready™.

The company has also announced new connectivity offerings to address the needs of the IoT marketplace. Such offerings include TX for transportation, IX for industrial, and EX for enterprise. Additional flexibility is supported through the Digi CORE® plug-in module.

In a press release, the company noted that the Digi TX64 is ready for 5G as part of AT&T’s 5G rollout.
