September 28, 2017
With the PCAN-miniPCIe FD, Germany-based Peak-System is offering a plug-in card in the PCI Express Mini format for the connection to one or two CAN FD buses. Based on a pre-mounted expansion card, a four-channel version is also available. The card reaches transfer rates of up to 12 Mbit/s for the maximum 64 data bytes of a CAN FD frame. The PCAN-miniPCIe FD can be flexibly connected to CAN and CAN FD buses though a D-Sub connector using the included connection cables. Each CAN channel is galvanically decoupled with 300 V and can be terminated if so desired.
With the extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and a high durability and space-saving design, the PCAN-miniPCIe FD is suited for use in industrial PCs or in motor, rail, and air vehicles. The plug-in card can also be used in medical devices, data loggers, and test stands. The card comes with software for displaying the CAN traffic, APIs for the development of your own applications with CAN connection, and device drivers for Windows and Linux.
