This week’s Road to Embedded World takes a different twist, in that we are previewing an event that’ll take place on site—but you needn’t be in Nuremberg, Germany to witness it. In fact, it’s designed for engineers who are not on site, and produced at a time that’s easily digestible for people in North America.

The chip shortage and supply-chain issues are not getting better.

The long-awaited COMPUTEX Taipei 2022 will be grandly held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, from May 24 to May 27, 2022. Taiwan External Trade Development Council, co-organizer of COMPUTEX, will also organize various events, including the COMPUTEX CEO Keynotes & Forum, that professionals look forward to during the exhibition. CEOs and senior executives from global tech giants are invited to attend the Keynotes & Forum.

Machine vision is the concept of using cameras as an aid in industrial applications, including factory automation. “Aid” can mean different things to different people. For example, if you are responsible for product quality on an assembly line, you can use machine vision to inspect each product as it rolls off the line to ensure that it is being manufacturing to the required specifications and that there are no defects.

The hardware side of RISC-V is ready for prime time. No one questions that.
 

It’s a wrap. The AUO-ADLINK Tech Forum is now officially in the books. However, all the sessions are still available on-demand, so you can rest assured that you won’t miss a thing (nor should you).

The term “secure print” involves protecting printed documents along every step of the document’s life—from the originating application to the target print device and then after it’s in the user’s hands. Secure printing could be a mechanism to keep documents confidential. It could also be a way to ensure that documents are not copied.

Advantech is one of those global embedded computer companies, so their road is not a simple A to B. point to point connection. That said, with facilities all around the globe, the company will have lots to show up the upcoming embedded world exhibition, specifically in Hall 1, Booth 1-207.

AI is regularly in the spotlight because of all the great things that can be accomplish with it. However, while we don’t want to think of it that way, it’s also possible that AI can be used for nefarious reasons, and unfortunately, that’s what’s starting to happen.

The road to embedded world is getting longer and longer in that the number of stops continues to increase, as more embedded vendors sign on to exhibit their wares at the industry’s most significant event of the year.
