Siemens and GlobalFoundries (GF) will collaborate with the goal of leveraging both companies’ AI-based abilities to enhance performance of semiconductor manufacturing. The companies will emphasize automation technologies for semiconductor fabrication (fab automation), electrification, digital solutions, and software ranging from chip development to product lifecycle management.

GlobalFoundries (GF) announced it has come to an agreement to acquire MIPS, expanding GF’s portfolio of customizable IP offerings enabling it to expand its process technologies with IP and software facilities.

To achieve this latest certification, the Aprisa tool passed a suite of rigorous tests that confirmed the Siemens place-and-route software supports 22FDX design features. GF’s 22FDX platform is suitable for high-volume devices that require minimal idle power and low leakage, at design costs in line with those of 28nm chips.
