Munich, Germany – 7 March 2023 – Infineon Technologies AG has taken the initial steps to create a Rust ecosystem and is now the first major semiconductor manufacturer to officially support Rust for its microcontrollers, as it provides built-in support for memory-safe software development, making it ideal for use in the design of mission-critical automotive software.

Munich, Germany – In collaboration with 3D time-of-flight technology provider, pmdtechnologies, Infineon Technologies AG announced the IRS2976C Time of Flight (ToF) VGA sensor, part of the REAL3™ product family and designed to support long-range, low-power 3D camera use cases with Infineon's advanced pixel technology.

Munich, Germany. Infineon Technologies has designed its PDM (pulse density modulation) MEMS microphone solutions to deliver the essential building blocks of MEMS and ASIC technologies. Adding to its previous MEMS technology, Infineon released its ultra-low power digital microphone, the IM69D12, to its XENSIV MEMS microphone series.

Munich, Germany. Infineon recently held a red ribbon cutting for the European research collaboration, PowerizeD. Participates from 39 industry leaders and 23 research facilities were in attendance discussing smart power electronics and the decarbonization of Europe. The PowerizeD initiative was put together to strengthen Europe’s industrial autonomy. Infineon developed the program with various corporate entities and will act as project manager.

Infineon made available its MOTIX 3-phase 160 V silicon-on-insulator (SOI)  gate driver, IC 6ED2742S01Q, with an embedded power management unit (PMU) in a QFN-32 pack including a thermally effective exposed power pad. It contains bootstrap diodes powering three external hi-side bootstrap capacitors by way of a trickle charge pump supporting 100% duty cycle management.

The recent pandemic was the beginning of many trends. One of those was the “work from everywhere” phenomenon, which is here to stay, at least in some form. With the number of home employees jumping in size seemingly overnight, along with it came the need for tools that could accommodate this environment, from video conferencing software to computer hardware.
