Advantech has released the EI-52 Edge Intelligence System, an 11th generation Intel Core processor-based industrial PC that is packaged with the EdgeX open-source software framework and the company’s own WISE-DeviceOn IoT management platform.

The EI-52 uses Windows OS to offer consumers familiarity and long-term after-sale service and support.

The EdgeX Foundry offers various built-in communication protocols, drivers for all needed sensor nodes, and sample code.

With EdgeX Foundry managing the nodes, the WISE-DeviceOn manages gateways. WISE-DeviceOn supports multiple gateways so batch operations can be performed.

The system is also compatible with the Intel VNNI instruction set for AI and deep learning. The 156 x 112 x 60 mm EI-52 Edge Intelligence system is built for extreme conditions and can operate in the temperature range of -10 to 50 °C. Optionally, it can accept the Intel Movidius Myriad X VPU-based Vega-330 AI module or AIW-355 5G module.

According to Advantech, the EI-52 also features:

  • 8/16 GB DDR4 Memory Built-in
  • 64 GB SATA Slim SSD Built-in
  • 4k HDMI and DP 1.4a Dual Display
