Rohde & Schwarz has made a name for itself in the high-end test market. Those high-end pieces of equipment come at a significant cost, at least in perception. The company is clearly ready to break that perception with its current pricing scheme. While the equipment is dubbed as “entry-level,” it looks more like “full-featured” to me.
It’s actually starting as a promotion that’s running through the end of the year, dubbed “This Changes Everything.” It lets engineers purchase all the bandwidth, channels, inputs, memory interfaces, and signal generation they may ever need, at one competitive price. They can choose from oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and power analyzers to serve everyday applications like EMI debug, power integrity, battery testing, channel power and low-speed serial.
The products included in the promotion are five oscilloscopes, the RTC1000, RTB2000, RTM3000, RTA4000, and RTH1000 Scope Rider; two spectrum analyzers, the FPC1000 and FPC1500; three power supplies, HMP4040, NGE100B, and RNGL200; and one power analyzer, the HMC8015.
Bottom line: expect the same level of quality and precision that Rohde & Schwarz has always provided. Be surprised by the price.
