GritTec Develops a Prototype of an Active Noise Cancellation Audio Device

GritTec has developed a prototype of an audio device with active noise cancellation for remote listening of a voice source in the chosen direction.

GritTec has developed a prototype of an audio device with active noise cancellation for remote listening of a voice source in the chosen direction. The prototype of the audio device has been created using the microphone array architecture on the base of an Arm Cortex Microcontroller.

The acoustic distance from the voice source is about from 5 up to 50 meters depending on the level of background noises and the case configuration of the device. One of the audio prototypes of the device is shown in the picture.

This was achieved due to:

  • Updating of the adaptation mechanism of the dynamic filters for suppressing noises from background side direction of the microphone array;
  • Amplifying the speech source in the main direction (""source direct"");
  • The case configuration.

This device can be used in the perimeter security systems for outdoor video monitoring.
