We caught up with Val Jelinic, who works for Zenner Connect, at the recent LoRaWAN Live! Event in Berlin, Germany.
The LoRaWAN community is a rapidly-growing marketplace of developers and customers creating and applying the recently-created LoRa RF infrastructure to a broad array of applications. Formerly the legacy TV transmission band, LoRa is a long-range solution that enables low-power wireless data transfer for IoT devices. The fact that it is a new bandwidth space also means that products using it won’t be competing with people for data volume.
At the recent LoRaWAN Live! Event in Berlin, Germany, we caught up with Val Jelinic, a jovial and pleasant person who works for Zenner Connect (a subsidiary of the Minol-ZENNER Group), about his views on the developing community and marketplace. The company is an IoT developer that aids companies in the creation of products and solutions for a myriad of applications.
We spent most of the time talking about the LoRaWAN community, as he is also the leader of the LoRa Alliance’s task force for Germany. His role is to aid the adoption of LoRaWAN in the country by ensuring that the regulatory and legal environment support the open-source nature of the community and its marketplace. An Australian currently living in Switzerland, he made for a lively and interesting interview.
