BlackBerry's Spark New EoT Platform Offers Ultra-Secure Hyperconnectivity

BlackBerry Limited released its BlackBerry Spark, the only Enterprise of Things (EoT) platform designed and built for ultra-secure hyperconnectivity.

BlackBerry Limited released its BlackBerry Spark, the only Enterprise of Things (EoT) platform designed and built for ultra-secure hyperconnectivity.

BlackBerry’s new platform will allow OEMs to manufacture complex ‘things,’ like autonomous vehicles and industrial equipment that must meet the strictest levels of security and safety-certification, as well as consumer-friendly interfaces to complex processes and AI.

The BlackBerry Spark is designed and built for certifications such as ISO 26262 in automobiles, ensuring the highest standard in functional safety of electrical and/or electronic systems. BlackBerry Spark partners include AWS, Baidu, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and Samsung. Together, they ship ready to “snap-in” IoT and other solutions.

Sparking New Ideas

BlackBerry Spark’s hyperconnectivity will enable customers to create entirely new user experiences in transportation. The BlackBerry Spark allows connected vehicles to communicate in real-time with other vehicles due to encrypted data being transferred inside and outside the vehicle. For example, a connected vehicle could notify a salt truck that there’s a patch of black ice in the road.

“BlackBerry smartphones sparked a mobile-first revolution that changed the way most of the world lives and works,” said John Chen, Executive Chairman and CEO, BlackBerry. “By combining hyperconnectivity with ultra-security and privacy, BlackBerry Spark is the indispensable component of a paradigm shift to ‘things-first,’ which holds even greater potential to reshape society. The ultimate outcome of this inevitable convergence of ubiquitous mobility and computing power will likely turn on the cybersecurity decisions we make collectively over the next few years.”

The BlackBerry Spark platform will be available by year’s end. To learn more please visit www.BlackBerry.com/Spark.
