- M.2 2280 NVMe modules are a unique product offering, providing industrial temperature ratings in NVMe/PCIe M.2 SSD form factors
- Product development begins at the wafer and IC level, including NAND characterization and screening to ensure weak blocks are screened out for extended product reliability and longevity.
Toshiba Memory Europe GmbH BG4 NVMe SSD Series
Utilizing the latest 96-layer BiCS FLASH technology, the NVMe SSD BG4 family provides up to 1 TB of client-class memory in an M.2 1620 BGA package, as well as an M.2 2230 form factor module. Random read IOPS of 380,000 can be achieved along with 190,000 random write IOPS through its four-lane PCIe Gen3 interface. Compared to the previous generation of single package SSDs (BG3), the BG4 family is up to 153 percent faster in random read performance while delivering an energy savings of 20 percent. It is ideal for ultra-mobile, embedded, and boot drive applications.
High-speed, durable, reliable flash memory is imperative for all computing applications. Whether it is storing the memories of a family day out, saving our business proposal, or retaining the boot configuration for our data centre, our choice of flash memory is critical. The BG4 family is underpinned with the latest advances in BiCS FLASH technology from Toshiba, the inventor of flash memory. 96-layers of carefully positioned lithography and years of experience are combined to make our fastest, most dense memory solution to date, enabling engineers new design freedoms to make their products smaller, faster, and more energy efficient.
Toshiba Memory Europe GmbH Universal Flash Storage (UFS) Version 3.0 Embedded Memory Devices
With the eMMC interface having reached its limits, the full-duplex serial Universal Flash Storage (UFS) interface is taking its place. However, in order attain the performance gains delivered by the data interface, the associated flash technology also needs to keep pace. The high-performance UFS NAND mass storage from Toshiba combines the latest UFS Version 3.0 with our BiCS 3D NAND technology to provide a managed memory solution with a standards-based interface. Offered in a 153 ball FBGA package in densities of up to 512 GB, they include error correction, bad block management, wear-leveling, and garbage collection.
Consumer, multimedia, and industrial electronics applications continue to increase demand for high-speed access to larger quantities of data. On this quest to realize ever more complex smartphones, more meaningful entertainment experiences, and more intelligent factories, standardized interface, managed memory flash is always at the core. Toshiba's UFS embedded flash memory devices draw upon our expertise in BiCS 3D flash memory miniaturization to deliver solutions that can deliver data to a host microprocessor at speeds close to the upper limits standardized by the serial UFS interface.
