Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) began a new project called AMPERE. It is a model-driven development framework for parallel and energy-efficient computation supporting multi-criteria optimization.
The intention of the project is to implement software architectures that account for non-functional requirements inherited from cyber physical interactions. Its focus is to provide capabilities for functionalities of cyber-physical systems (CPS).
According to the company, AMPERE will develop a novel system design and computing software ecosystem for the development and execution of CPS. It will achieve this thanks to the combination of model-driven engineering (MDE) and parallel execution, two important technical challenges at the system design and the computing software stack of CPS.
The technology coming from AMPERE will be used in automotive and railway domains.
