Spirent announced it is working with China Telecom on system-wide performance verification and assessment of 5G standalone (SA) network equipment. Spirent Landslide was used by China Telecom for rapid testing of 5G core network commercial equipment.

According to the company Spirent Landslide is an advanced mobile core network performance testing solution.

“The system-wide performance verification of 5G SA core network commercial equipment completed jointly by Spirent, China Telecom and four vendors is a milestone event with great significance to the commercialization of 5G,” said senior director for business development of Spirent Jacky Wu, in a press release. “Spirent Landslide delivered effective assurance to these tests, provided valuable reference data for equipment vendors to further optimize offerings, and laid a solid foundation for the scaled deployment of 5G SA.”

In the testing phase, Landslide is used to simulated 5G devices and base stations, testing scenarios such as large-scale end point registration. They portray the influence of architectures on the performance of the 5G core networks.
