As Internet of Things (IoT) networks and associated “things” become more complex, major issues – data issues, communication issues, device monitoring and troubleshooting, and system security – begin to arise. How can we address these weaknesses? Join us on March 21 at 11 a.m. EDT for day one of Embedded University’s Device Management 101 series, entitled “IoT Overview and the Major Issues” to find out.
In this class, led by Charles J. Lord, PE, President and Chief Trainer at Blue Ridge Advanced Design and Automation, we will go over some of the basic IoT configurations (such as gateway, tree, and mesh) and how devices are best connected to maximize efficiency. We will then compile a checklist of features that a management system needs to avoid potential weaknesses in areas of data, communication, device monitoring and troubleshooting, and system security. This class will also examine ways to prioritize the criticality of the devices and/or their data to help assign levels of security and monitoring capabilities.
