This time, we’ll be getting into choosing and configuring your development environment, and how the choices you’ve been making so far will help you determine what that looks like.

SAN FRANCISCO. IOTech recently announced the general availability of Edge Connect, a solution designed for acquiring large amounts of data in complex multi-protocol industrial environments. Industrial IoT applications play significant roles in sectors like manufacturing and energy, but before organizations can benefit from these applications, they must first connect the edge devices and collect that data — a complex and time-consuming process. Edge Connect aims to simplify this process to enable fast deployment of new edge-based use cases.

CAMARILLO, CALIFORNIA. Semtech Corporation and Kairos recently announced a joint effort to improve water monitoring and leak protection efforts at San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square. The collaboration features Kairos’ leak detection strip sensors and gateways, which are based on Semtech’s LoRa technology, run on a LoRaWAN network, and can enable real-time monitoring capabilities via cloud connection.

Premio Inc. recently released the BCO-1000-EHL, an industrial-grade fanless industrial mini computer designed as an alternative to Intel's discontinued NUC Mini PCs. The BCO-1000-EHL, supported by Intel 11th Gen Celeron J Series (Elkhart Lake) processors, aims to enable low-power processing in harsh industrial environments, as well as performance boosts to space-constrained applications such as telematics, transportation, automation systems, industrial controls, and more at the rugged edge.

Vecow recently announced the availability of its VCM-1000, a high-performance embedded system powered by 13th Gen Intel Core i9/i7/i5/i3 processors and designed for use in edge AI applications. The system's 2U half-rack size and range of I/O interfaces make it a suitable solution for space-constrained applications in environments such as digital factories, mobile robots, public security, and more.

PARIS. ZettaScale Technology recently announced the availability of Zetta, a platform designed to unify communication, storage, and computation across the spectrum from microcontrollers to data centers. Zetta is cloud agnostic and supports the provisioning, monitoring, and managing of infrastructure from cloud to microcontroller and back.

“We had a customer that was looking to get COMs for their products,” says Dan Millar, CMO of MistyWest, a design and engineering firm headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. “If I remember right, the order was delayed three times then ultimately just outright canceled. 

MUNICH, Germany. Infineon Technologies AG recently introduced the first generation of its ISOFACE™ dual-channel digital isolators, which are designed for robust high-voltage isolation and are pin-to-pin compatible with offerings from other suppliers.

FREDERICK, Maryland. Spirent Communications plc recently announced the Spirent Mobile Test Platform (MTP), an over-the-air (OTA) performance monitoring solution designed to bring the network edge into the complete end-to-end test and monitoring landscape. The small form factor solution provides edge service monitoring and full remote management.

PARIS, France. Sequans Communications S.A. recently introduced Taurus 5G NR, a chipset platform for use in 5G broadband IoT devices that support applications such as portable hotspots, fixed wireless access, video surveillance, mobile computing, and high-end industrial IoT.

PHOENIX – Avnet, Inc. and Fujikura recently released a 5G FR2 phased array antenna development platform for mmWave frequency bands that enables development and prototyping of advanced 5G mmWave systems using AMD ZynqTM UltraScale+™ RFSoC Gen3 and Fujikura’s FutureAccess™ Phased Array Antenna Module (PAAM), controlled by the Avnet RFSoC Explorer® MATLAB dashboard.

DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY – KIOXIA Europe GmbH recently announced new high-performing UFS (Universal Flash Storage) Ver. 4.0 embedded flash memory devices that provide fast transfer speeds in a small package size and are designed for a range of next-gen mobile applications. The improved performance enabled by these devices allows applications to utilize 5G’s connectivity benefits like faster downloads and reduced lag time.

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN. Rockwell Automation, Inc. announced a collaboration with Avid Solutions, Inc., to help companies produce Green Hydrogen (H2). Avid Solutions is delivering Green H2 solutions for electrolyzers, H2 liquefaction, and plant automation services.

SAGAPONACK, NEW YORK. WePower Technologies recently released the Gemns™ G100 EHG (G100) Wireless Panel Switch as part of its portfolio of patented, well-performing technologies for large-scale deployment of IoT devices in industrial, automotive, smart home, smart city, and aerospace applications that can't rely on battery-powered devices.

AUSTIN, TEXAS. SigmaSense recently announced a license and co-development agreement with NXP® Semiconductors intended to help the transition from traditional touch interfaces to multi-dimensional sensing. SigmaSense and NXP will be collaborating on high-performance sensing devices for use in applications that require robust, fast, immersive software-defined experiences.

SAN FRANCISCO. Somewear Labs recently announced the launch of Node, a multi-network device that will allow mission teams to securely, reliably, and efficiently communicate and coordinate during dynamic operations. Node is pocket-sized and includes automation technology to route data via mesh radio or satellite connectivity. Group communications within range of Nodes are powered by an encrypted, low latency mesh network. If a team member exits Node's mesh network range, the device autonomously delivers inbound and outbound data via the built-in satellite link.
