PICMG, a not-for-profit 501(c) consortium of companies and organizations that collaboratively develop open specifications, is announcing the 6th MicroTCA Workshop to be held at the DESY campus in Hamburg, Germany from Dec 4-7th 2017.
The conference-style workshop includes short presentations and tutorials on developments using the MicroTCA open standard architecture. Part of the workshop is dedicated for an industry exhibition and an interoperability session. Participants have the opportunity to learn about the latest applications of MicroTCA in research facilities, showcase new products and developments, and network with others in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. The venue is held at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) campus including the Center for Free Electron LASER Science (CFEL) building for the main event.
MicroTCA Workshops have had a steady attendance of approximately 150-200 participants over the last several years. The workshop is regarded as the main event of the year for all major users, developers, manufacturers and integrators of MicroTCA technology. DESY and the MicroTCA Technology Lab have a strong focus on MTCA.4, which features specific provisions for the High Energy Physics market. However, this event remains open to everyone involved in MicroTCA, regardless of the version of the standard.
DESY will open participant registration and publish more information at https://mtcaws.desy.de/ soon. For more information on MicroTCA and the sub-specifications, visit https://www.picmg.org/openstandards/microtca/
