We have had a lot of fun on our Road to embedded world ’23 thus far, but when I heard we were off to Hopkins, Minnesota, I was excited. Geneva. STMicroelectronics announced the extension of its integrated and power-saving ST-ONE family of USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) digital controllers. STMicroelectronics is revealing the ST-ONEMP including support for two power outputs and building on the ST-ONE architecture. The digital controller has an integrated Arm Cortex-M0+ microcontroller built on the secondary side with support for efficient non-complementary active clamp flyback controller, and 64KB Flash for modifying USB-PD 3.1 PPS (USB-PD protocol and power conversion firmware) interface.

Fremont, California. Actelis Networks was chosen by Northern Ireland Railways (NI Railways) for its solutions utilizing high speed, media flexibility, and reliability in enabling high-speed connectivity within large-scale safety critical environments.

MASTECS will deploy its Vehicle Domain Control Module (VDCM) leveraging Infineon’s 32-bit TriCore AURIX– TC397 Microcontroller. It operates at 300 MHz including 4 additional checker cores delivering 4000 DMIPS, and supports floating point/fix point with all cores, 16 MB flash (ECC protection), and up to 6.9 MB SRAM (ECC protection). For critical systems, the VDCM environment meets the ISO26262 standard for Road Vehicle Functional Safety requirements and ASIL D.

Klein-Winternheim, Germany. Thales Alenia Space will be integrating PikeOS (RTOS) for MPU into a telecom family branded SPACE INSPIRE (software defined telecommunication satellite). The decision was made based on the performance of PikeOS including various individual levels of security (MILS) and ECSS level B qualified base for critical systems. 

Kirkland, Wash. Alliance Memory shared that it has extended its portfolio of low power asynchronous SRAM (LPSRAM) devices. The AS6CE1016A (1Mb) and AS6CE4016B (4Mb) integrate an error-correction code (ECC) for a more reliable LPSRAM When juxtaposed to previous-generation technology, the LPSRAM’s deliver upgraded failure in time (FIT), mean time to failure (MTTF), and characteristics with reduced soft error rates (SER).
