Trains continue to travel at higher speeds, go longer distances, and carry more passengers. Without the proper safeguards in place, these facts could result in a less than desirable situation.

Networked devices that connect to the cloud and each other are inherently susceptible to cyberattack. To ensure built-in defenses are robust as possible, these systems must be protected from the time of manufacture until their decommissioning. This includes the unique identities that allow IoT devices to authenticate over PKI infrastructure.

Machine vision, factory automation, robotics, and edge AI applications require embedded hardware that not only enables powerful computing but also includes a rugged and robust design that allows these applications to operate efficiently in the harsh environments in which they're deployed. 

FPGAs are a great tool to expedite the development of embedded systems, particularly IoT Edge devices. In most cases, those FPGAs for the basis of both the hardware and the programming model for the application.

HPC applications obviously process large amounts of important data. But increasingly, that data needs to remain protected when it’s in transit or at rest.

IoT devices are becoming part of our daily lives, which, if you think about it, makes their ability to easily and securely connect to the cloud critical future economies. We’d better put something in place to manage those cloud connections then, shouldn’t we?
