We are back yet again in such a short time. You might think we just decided to stroll around, and we have, sort of, but one must remember a poem from The Fellowship of the Ring that sings of Aragorn with, “Not all those who wander are lost.” So, now we wander in an organized way over to see ICOP and witness what innovative EtherCAT solutions it is bringing to booth 1-581 at embedded world 2023. 

Somerville, MA. NODAR announced its Hammerhead Development Kit (DevKit), an untethered stereo vision software solution capturing real time 3D point cloud images from many differing cameras. NODAR’s DevKit processes images of road hazards as small as 10cm, 150m away, as well as more cumbersome objects as far as 1,250m away.

So many vendors to see, so little time. We are ramping up our Road to embedded world 2023 and getting back On the Road earlier than expected with a great philosophical thought from Jack Kerouac on how we leave our visits. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime,” and noticing our partners are getting as excited as we are, The Road to embedded world 2023 is going to enhance our travels to go to as many different corners as Twain suggested.

CES 2023. During CES 2023, AAEON demonstrated its AI edge solutions driven by the NVIDIA Jetson Orin system-on-module (SoM), the BOXER-8652AI and the BOXER-8651AI. The NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano will power the BOXER-8621AI while in the near future we will see the release of the BOXER-8646AI.

CES 2023. While attending CES 2023, visit booth #10955 in the IoT Pavillion, where Airgain is demonstrating its fully tested and validated outdoor 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) reference design. The solutions meet IP67 outdoor requirements as well as 5G-NR 3GPP REL-16 standards with 4x4 MIMO on DL and 2x2 MIMO on UL.

CES 2023. TDK Corporation expanded its InvenSense SmartIndustrial sensor platform family with the six-axis tilt outputs IIM-20670 IMU (3-axis accelerometer, and 3-axis gyroscope) operating at a range from -40ᵒC to 105ᵒC for solutions requiring high stabilization over temperature. An accelerometer bias repeatability of 1 mg and a programmable output of 64G is featured along with an accelerometer thermal stability of 1.7 µg/C.

CES 2023. Kingston Technology Company, Inc will showcase its Kingston IronKey USB Type-C Vault Privacy 50C (IKVP50C) drive at CES 2023. Secure systems remain secured with protection against BadUSB and Brute Force attacks with the FIPS 197 Certified and XTS-AES 256-bit hardware-encrypted Vault Privacy 50 series.

CES 2023. onsemi is highlighting its 1700 V EliteSiC silicon carbide (SiC) family at CES 2023. The series consists of the 1700 V EliteSiC MOSFET and two 1700 V avalanche-rated EliteSiC Schottky diodes. EliteSiC devices deliver dependable performance for industrial drive and energy infrastructure applications needing a Vgs range of -15 V/25 V for fast switching and control of gate voltages growing to -10V.

CES 2023. Polar Electro announced its collaboration with MicroEJ to revolutionize digital health wearables. MicroEJ supports the same abilities as an OS and includes improved battery operating time, reliable connectivity, and in-depth user interfaces.

CES 2023. While highlighting 30 technologies, solutions, and platforms at CES 2023 (Central Hall - #16181), TDK Corporation also released information regarding its agreement to obtain Qeexo, Co. Qeexo will bring its expertise of automated machine-learning (ML) platforms for tinyML models requiring low power, and continuous running intelligent platforms. Qeexo will be completely absorbed by TDK for the goal of being an Industry 4.0 leader in enhancing smart edge applications.  

CES 2023. Aetina showed up to CES 2023 and unveiled its DeviceEdge, a NVIDIA Jetson-based series of embedded platforms, driven by NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX and Orin Nano system-on-modules (SoMs). The  Aetina series consists of the AIB-SO21/31 & AIB-SN31/41, AIB-MO22/32 & AIB-MN32/42, AIE-KO21/31 & AIE-KN31/41, and AIE-KO22/32 & AIE-KN32/42.

Taipei, Taiwan. ASROCK Industrial released its NUC 1300/D5 BOX, NUC 1300/D4 BOX, and NUCS 1300/D4 BOX Series powered by 13th Gen Intel Core Processors (Raptor Lake-P). The “tiny but mighty” series includes a hybrid framework with support up to 12 cores (4P+8E) with Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

Munich, Germany and Las Vegas, Nevada. Infineon Technologies AG and Altia, introduced the outcome of their partnership at CES 2023, the Arm Cortex-M4/M7 powered TRAVEO T2G Cluster microcontroller (MCU) series utilizing Altia's CloudWare software platform for display solutions.

CES 2023. Ever since my sons opened up their Meta Quest 2 on Christmas Eve, they have been encompassed in the metaverse or fighting about who gets to jump into the metaverse.  During CES 2023, Accenture will release its accumulated data suggesting that both consumer and business interest in the metaverse will grow towards an astonishing 4.2% of company revenue, or $1 trillion in commercial sales by 2025.

CES 2023. Do not miss Bosch at CES, booth 16115, where it is launching its #LikeABosch campaign to demonstrate the proper direction you are facing utilizing Bosch’s BMM350 magnetometer featuring field shock recovery and average power consumed is only 200 μA at a 100 Hz data rate.

CES 2023. LIPS and Ambarella announced the new CV2 CVflow edge AI perception SoC based LIPSedge S-series 3D Stereo Camera. LIPS will be highlighting the S-Series during CES 2023. The solution combines high-resolution 2D and 3D image processing in one camera for machine vision applications. “By working with an industrial AI perception processing leader like Ambarella, we were able to come up with this next-gen 3D camera design that powers both 2D and 3D image processing on a single camera,” said Luke Liu, CEO of LIPS Corporation. “Adding this AI sensor fusion capability to our camera portfolio dramatically changes the machine vision landscape going forward.”

CES 2023. AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su delivered a compelling opening Keynote address at CES 2023. Together with industry leaders from HP, Intuitive Surgical, Lenovo, Magic Leap, and Microsoft, Dr. Su shared how AMD is helping revolutionize AI, hybrid work, gaming, healthcare, and aerospace.
