Open-source AI hardware solutions are often designed to be an easy and accessible way for students, hobbyists, and even professional developers, to get started with their AI application development projects. These computing platforms typically utilize an industry form factor that can further support robotics, facial recognition, touchless HMIs, and real-time automation projects.

High-performance computing (HPC) applications are responsible for managing large amounts of critical data. There is also a growing demand to ensure that this data remains secure during transmission and storage, especially in extreme environments.

Despite the fact that most of the hype around advanced driver assistance systems, or ADAS, is focused on getting closer to consumer autonomous driving, the real mass of implementations and driving force behind the technological advancements that have been made recently is in the fleet and commercial spaces.

Embedded and edge computing designs can often benefit from out-of-the-box hardware solutions that eliminate the need for extra components like FPGAs but can still support safety-critical and high-performance applications like smart city and smart factory applications.

On this episode of Embedded Insiders, we’re featuring a group of AI experts all hailing from vendors based in Taiwan. The vendors, certainly leaders in their own right, are DFI, ASUS IoT, and Shuttle, and they all feature IoT products, or in this case, AIoT products.
