Sunnyvale, California and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Synopsys has announced it will obtain Ansys and combine its semiconductor electronic design automation (EDA) with Ansys' broad simulation and analysis portfolio. "The megatrends of AI, silicon proliferation and software-defined systems are requiring more compute performance and efficiency in the face of growing, systemic complexity. Bringing together Synopsys' industry-leading EDA solutions with Ansys' world-class simulation and analysis capabilities will enable us to deliver a holistic, powerful and seamlessly integrated silicon to systems approach to innovation to help maximize the capabilities of technology R&D teams across a broad range of industries," said Sassine Ghazi, President and CEO of Synopsys.

PEAK-System has introduced a sensor with CAN FD connection. The PCAN-GPS FD I/O module was developed to detect position, orientation, and acceleration. The solution is capable of connecting via a CAN connection that supports both CAN FD standard and classic CAN.
 

While exhibiting at CES 2024 NXP Semiconductors highlighted its SAF86x radar SoC (System-on-Chip), a solution to easily combine radar transceivers, multi-core radar processor, and a MACsec hardware engine connected by Automotive Ethernet for software-defined radar. Low-level sensor data is transmitted up to 1 Gbit/s. According to NXP, the SoC gives car manufacturers the ability to optimize next-generation ADAS partitioning for software-defined vehicles, while providing for a smooth transition to new architectures and features utilizing Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.

Vecow Co., Ltd disclosed its edge ready GPU-accelerated server-grade platform featuring a 16-core Intel Xeon D-2876NT processor, 8 DDR4 UDIMM/RDIMM 2933 MHz, and up to 512GB. Intel’s QuickAssist Technology facilitates optimization with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe 4.0, SATA 3.0, USB 3.0, and 10GigE LAN. The ICS-1000 is ideal for edge AI applications such as autonomous driving, robotic control, public security, medical imaging, and private 5G networks.

Las Vegas, Nevada. While exhibiting at CES 2024, MicroEJ will reveal the MICROEJ VEE (Virtual Execution Environment) based VEE Wear operating system (OS) for wearables. Located in booth #52739 in the Venetian Expo, MicroEJ will demonstrate the OS’s ability to run cost and power efficient microcontrollers and microprocessors. “Based on tiny software containers, the essence of VEE Wear is to create an ultra-low footprint operating system that reshapes the way wearable products are developed,” said Dr. Fred Rivard, CEO, MicroEJ.

Las Vegas, Nevada. “We envision the industrial metaverse as a virtual world that is nearly indistinguishable from reality, enabling people — along with AI — to collaborate in real time to address real-world challenges,” stated Siemens CEO Roland Busch.

Itasca, Illinois. During CES 2024, Knowles will showcase its audio and voice technologies while located in the Venetian Resort Toscana at Suite #3805. Demonstrations will include True Wireless Stereo (TWS), hearing health, automotive, wearables, and its balanced armature (BA) drivers that are currently integrated within products such as Edifier NeoBuds Pro 2, Razer’s Moray in-ear monitor (IEM), and the JLab Epic Lab Edition earbuds.

Las Vegas, Nevada / Reutlingen, Germany. Bosch will unveil its new BHI380 Smart Connected Sensors platform at CES 2024 where it will be demonstrating at booth #17207. The solution enhances motion tracking applications with hardware, software, and ready-to-use wearable reference designs. Available is up to eight Bluetooth connected sensor nodes for movement assessments in rehab, sports/fitness, and gaming.

Santa Clara, California. AMD will highlight its new Versal AI Edge XA adaptive SoC and Ryzen Embedded V2000A Series processor during CES 2024. The first AMD 7nm device to be auto-qualified, the Versal AI Edge XA leverages an advanced AI Engine to innovate automotive systems and applications. The SoC is ideal for forward cameras, in-cabin monitoring, LiDAR, 4D radar, surround-view, automated parking, and autonomous driving. The Ryzen Embedded V2000A Series powers the next-generation of infotainment consoles, digital clusters, and passenger displays. According to AMD, it brings the first x86 auto-qualified processor family into the automotive world.

Las Vegas, Nevada. Cipia will demonstrate its flexible Cabin Sense at CES 2024 supplying driver and occupancy monitoring with a production time slated for 2024. The software collaborates with the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-a-chip (SoC) delivering in-cabin sensing capabilities, safety, and convenience for automotive applications. Cabin Sense was developed to integrate on individual ECUs, ADAS, and IVI domain controllers.

Las Vegas, Nevada. MyRadar will be showcasing its “Powered by MyRadar'' during its stay at CES 2024. Powered by MyRadar gives designers the capability to embed environmental data into apps and software solutions with off-the-shelf customizable applications, APIs, and software development kits. Also offered is MetDesk, where users can talk to a real-time meteorologist on demand.

The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) will be located in booth 9255, North Hall, LVCC, at CES 2024 as well as being a part of CES Unveiled Las Vegas, booth 226, Shoreline Exhibit Hall, Mandalay Bay Convention Center. ITRI will showcase many of its AI supported platforms ranging from sports to manufacturing. 

Coral Springs, Florida. Rutronik will be attending its first CES at this year’s CES 2024, where they will be in the German Pavilion holding down Booth 55439-04. Rutronik is planning to demonstrate its power reference designs for the e-mobility industry and sensor evaluation boards. Rutronik’s portfolio also consists of semiconductors, embedded, wireless, passive, and electromechanical solutions.

Solana Beach, California. Macnica will be attending CES 2024 with its next generation solutions for AI and autonomous driving. While visiting CES, stop by Booth N9417 to see platforms consisting of automated driving and advanced mobility, research software for driver experiences, remote monitoring and control, and remote data collection for automotive telemetry.

San Diego, California. At CES 2024, Silanna Semiconductor will showcase its ACF (active clamp flyback) platform in the Vinpower iXCharger universal charging and storage cube. The charger was presented the Innovation Award at CES 2024 and will be viewable at Central Hall, booth #16646, and the Innovation Awards Showcase.

Sunnyvale, California. Intrinsic ID will attend CES 2024 as part of the Dutch Pavilion in booth 62100. Intrinsic’s security specialists will be showcasing its root-of-trust (RoT) solutions which are deployed in over 650 million devices globally.

Bromont, Quebec. Boréas Technologies released its Boréas CapDrive BOS0614, the first Solid-State Haptic Button platform for smartphones with multichannel and ultra-low-power (under 10 μA in sleep mode) piezo haptic driver with integrated force-sensing. The solution is packed in a small WLCSP (2.1x2.5x0.5 mm) with support for up to four buttons. With an IP68 waterproof design, the Boréas CapDrive Haptic Buttons are rugged and do not succumb to dust or oils when utilized in the field.

Seattle, Washington. TEAL released Aurora, its next-generation IoT Connectivity Management Platform (CMP). The solution monitors and manages IoT components and data network connections with easy one click installation of new networks. Other benefits include user friendly switching between existing networks, tracking data, and monitoring real-time device condition.

BlackBerry Limited is attending CES 2024 with its automotive solutions powered by its IVY vehicle data platform through on-site demonstrations highlighting industry partners. IVY was developed to be an in-vehicle AI capable design friendly platform.

CES 2024 will have Owl AI demonstrate an industry first ADAS safety technology for Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (PAEB) at night. Visitors will get a firsthand look at the innovative work when visiting Booth 6867 (West Hall). The solution arrives before the new NHTSA mandate for pedestrian safety. At its booth, Owl will discuss how its LWIR thermal imaging, when combined with computer vision, will detect life better than any differentiated sensing systems.
